2. SOUNDBITE (English) Stephenie Meyer/Author - on why both "The Host" and "Twilight" revolve around one female and two males:

"Well actually this story is two girls and one guy for most of it. I mean you look at the (film) poster it very much looks like the same thing (as 'Twilight'). You have these two guys and this beautiful girl that they are fighting over. It didn't feel like that at all when I was writing it. I didn't actually intend for the other guy to come in. He just sort of happened (laughs) and then it turned into a quadrangle."

4. SOUNDBITE (English) Saoirse Ronan/Actress - on kissing two boys (co-stars Max Irons and Jake Abel) in the movie:

"(Laughs) There were two of them and I was sick of kissing them by the end. I had so many of those scenes to do with them. I am not going to repeat the names that I was called on set. Because I was, you know, jumping from...with Max one day, Jake the next day, then back to Max. It was crazy."

6. SOUNDBITE (English) Diane Kruger/Actress - on why she did this big blockbuster film:

"Well I was initially attracted to the script. I had not read the book. Obviously Stephenie Meyer is a huge draw. I really enjoyed 'Twilight.' It sort of appeals to my inner teenage girl. I thought this character, The Seeker, is just very complex. You think she's one thing and she is really not. I don't think I've ever played a villain, on paper a villain anyways."
