One of the problems we've had is that gasoline is a fuel, but you can't get it into your care unless there's another fuel, electricity to drive the pumps. As electricity comes back, the pumps start working, you'll have gasoline.

SATURDAY, ABOUT 900-THOUSAND PEOPLE STILL DIDN'T HAVE ELECTRICITY IN THE NEW YORK CITY METROPOLITAN AREA, INCLUDING MANY ON LONG ISLAND AND STATEN ISLAND, WHICH WAS DEALT A CRIPPLING BLOW BY SANDY.

ABOUT 80 PERCENT OF THE CITY'S SUBWAY SERVICE HAS BEEN RESTORED.

AND MONDAY, MOST OF THE CITY'S SCHOOLS WILL RE-OPEN.
