Driver pleads guilty over fatal hospital crash

A man has pleaded guilty to causing a fatal accident outside the Canberra Hospital last year.

Linda Cox, 38, and Ashlee Bumpus, 25, were hit by a stolen car while crossing Yamba Drive outside the Canberra Hospital in May.

Ms Cox was killed and Ms Bumpus received serious injuries

On Friday in the ACT Supreme Court, Justin Monfries, 24, pleaded guilty to stealing the car, causing grievous bodily harm to Ms Bumpus and culpable driving causing the death of Ms Cox.

He pleaded not guilty to the alternative charge of unlawfully killing Ms Cox.

He will be sentenced for the crimes in June.
