St Mirren wins Scottish League Cup for first time
GLASGOW, Scotland (AP) — St. Mirren won the Scottish League Cup for the first time after coming from behind to beat Hearts 3-2 on Sunday.
Ryan Stevenson fired Hearts ahead in the 10th minute, but Esmael Goncalves leveled from close range before half time against the run of play.
Steven Thompson puts St. Mirren in front a minute into the second half when he converted Paul Dummett's cross.
Conor Newton played a one-two with Goncalves before powering in the third in the 66th.
Although Stevenson reduced the deficit later on to ensure a nervy ending, St. Mirren held on to collect the trophy at Hampden Park.
