Police are yet to question a man over the double murder of his father and uncle at a rural farmhouse in central Victoria.
Ross Streeter, 30, is under police guard at the Royal Melbourne Hospital with non-life threatening, self-inflicted injuries.
He was arrested in Avoca on Saturday afternoon but a police spokeswoman says it could be another day before detectives are allowed to talk to him.
Detectives were driving him to Melbourne when they suddenly pulled over on the Sunraysia Highway and transferred him to an ambulance.
The ABC understands Ross Streeter is the son of one of the deceased men, and the nephew of the other.
Their bodies were discovered with multiple gunshot wounds to the head and chest.
Police arrested the 30 year old after a wallet belonging to one of the deceased men was found at a recycling depot in Bendigo.
