The ABC is facing a fierce backlash following a decision to axe its TV production unit in Tasmania.
ABC wins top Tasmanian media award

Tasmanian ABC News journalist Edith Bevin has won the top prize at the Tasmanian Media Awards presented in Hobart last night.
The Hobart-based reporter took out the Journalist of the Year award, with judges commending her determination and grit.
The ABC's Linda Hunt won the Science, Environment and Health award and Damian McIver took the gong for best sports coverage.
Pat McGrath was announced best new journalist.
