Print PageA flood recovery group says more volunteers are needed to help the Bundaberg community in south-east Queensland get back on its feet.
Blazeaid is helping flood-affected farmers across the Wide Bay to repair damage to their properties.
Six volunteer camps have been set up in Monto, Biggenden, Mundubbera, Gin Gin, Dululu and Murgon to assist them.
But coordinator Lyn Bailey says the recovery task is far greater than expected and more volunteers are desperately needed.
"We're looking at weeks and months of work ahead so we literally need hundreds and hundreds more volunteers to help us out," she said.
Ms Bailey says there are about 100 volunteers in the region at the moment.
She says teams will remain in the area for about six months.
