The body of a woman, 41, was discovered after a house fire in Adelaide.

Fire crews were called to premises in Hidson Street at Ridleyton on Wednesday afternoon after neighbours saw smoke coming from the roof.

It took 20 firefighters about 40 minutes to put out the fire, which gutted the building.

The woman's body was found in a back room of the house, a short time later.

Police said their investigation determined the blaze was not suspicious.
