Three men have lost High Court appeals over their convictions for a 2007 murder during an 18th birthday party.

Kiet Huynh, Rotha Sem and Chansya Duong are serving mandatory life jail sentences for the murder of Thea Kheav at a party at Parafield Gardens in Adelaide's northern suburbs, in 2007.

Kheav died of a single stab wound when brawling broke out, involving dozens of people.

Fighting was sparked by a verbal disagreement between one of the convicted men and others at the party.

The three men asked the High Court to rule the original judge misdirected the jury by failing to point out the prosecution needed to prove each had participated in a joint criminal enterprise.

The High Court dismissed the appeals, deciding the judge had ruled correctly.
