A woman has suffered serious injuries after being run down while trying to stop two thieves from stealing her daughter's car in the Perth suburb of Girrawheen.
Sergeant Naomi Smith says the 49-year-old woman was at her home in Bendix Way with her two daughters last night when they heard a noise in the driveway.
"When they went outside they saw a man reversing out of the driveway with a female passenger," she said.
"The victim challenged the driver to stop before he drove at the woman hitting her and causing her to be dragged for a short distance and eventually trapping her under the front wheel.
"She managed to free herself and the offenders ran from the scene."
The woman suffered a broken foot and severe bruising.
She was taken by ambulance to Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.
Police are looking for a fair-skinned male aged between 30 and 40 with a solid build.
The woman seen with him had shoulder length blonde hair.
