Man critical after Melbourne CBD bashing
Two men are being questioned by police after a street fight in Melbourne's CBD has left a man in a critical condition in hospital.
The man and his friend were attacked by two others around 3am (AEDT) on Sunday, but his friend escaped the fight having only suffered minor injuries.
The other man is on life support at the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
Police arrested a 23-year-old and an 18-year-old shortly after the assault near the intersection of Lonsdale and Swanston streets.
No one has been charged at this time.
