VOICE-OVER SCRIPT:

SNOW HIT THE NEW YORK AREA BEFORE DAWN FRIDAY MORNING, MAKING A DIFFICULT COMMUTE LIKELY.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE FORECASTS THAT AREAS AROUND NEW YORK CITY CAN EXPECT A FEW INCHES OF SNOW.

IT SAYS THE COMBINATION OF HEAVY, WET SNOW AND STRONG WIND GUSTS COULD KNOCK DOWN TREES AND POWER LINES, AS WELL AS REDUCE VISIBILITY.

THE NATONAL WEATHER SERVICE SAYS NEW ENGLAND CAN EXPECT A CONVEYOR BELT OF SNOW ON FRIDAY.

EIGHT TO 12 INCHES OF SNOW ARE FORECAST FOR PARTS OF MASSACHUSETTS AND RHODE ISLAND, WHILE BOSTON CAN EXPECT SIX TO TEN INCHES.

POWERFUL WAVES AND HIGH WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO MAKE THINGS DANGEROUS ALONG NEW ENGLAND'S SOUTHERN COASTLINE.

MATT SMALL, THE ASSOCIATED PRESS.
