News Summary: Subaru recalls 47,000 vehicles

Published: 07:51:05 PM, Thu 07 March 2013 UTC

REMOTE RECALL: Subaru is recalling more than 47,000 cars and SUVs with remote starters. Included are some Legacy and Outback cars from the 2010 to 2013 model years. Also the Impreza from 2012 and 2013 and the XV Crosstrek from 2013.

SURPRISE STARTUP: If the key fob is dropped, it could start the engine without any buttons being pressed. The car could stop and start until it runs out of gas. If parked in a garage, there's a risk of toxic carbon monoxide buildup.

KEY SOLUTION: Subaru will replace the key fobs for free.
