A man accused of assaulting another at a nightclub has pleaded not guilty.

Jason Lindsley, 24, was attacked at the Zhivago nightclub in Adelaide last August.

A Blair Athol man, 22, faced Adelaide Magistrates Court and denied an aggravated charge of causing serious harm.

Mr Lindsley's father was in court to hear the plea.

The accused's identity is suppressed but Magistrate Simon Smart is to rule on whether the suppression should be lifted.

The man also denied a number of other offences, including robbing a hotel at Norwood.

He asked the court to release him on home detention bail and Mr Smart ordered bail reports so he could consider the application next week.

The man was ordered to stand trial in the District Court on the assault charge.
