The Tasmanian Government has again failed to state if it has abandoned its fiscal strategy.

The Premier, Lara Giddings, is refusing to say whether her Government will deliver a budget surplus next financial year, as it forecast.

Ms Giddings was asked twice in Parliament about whether the financial target will be met.

"The fact is that we are working on the budget as we speak, the fact is we will deliver that budget in May," she said.

Opposition Leader Will Hodgman says the Premier announced just three months ago that the Government would reach the target.

"Doesn't it prove once and for all that you simply cannot trust the Labor-Green Government with money?"

The Government was projecting a $71 million surplus for 2013-14.
