Welfare workers are being sent to Dalby on southern Queensland's Western Downs to help locals recover from their second flood in five weeks.
Lifeline has deployed a team to town this morning.
Lifeline's regional general manager Derek Tuffield says it is important to have staff on the ground to help.
"Obviously they'll be working alongside other agencies like Red Cross and the Department of Communities," he said.
"Their role primarily is to in actual fact meet with those people who have been affected by the recent floodwaters, find out [what] their local issues are [and] provide counselling and psychological support where necessary.
He says Lifeline workers has been "running flat strap".
"We've got staff up at West Bundaberg at the moment - we've got staff in Chinchilla ... in Warwick doing community recovery and counselling," he said.
"We've had staff down on the Gold Coast and the hinterland, so it's certainly an issue of coordination, of making sure we keep regular contact ... debrief our staff on a regular basis."
