A teacher stood down after being charged with child sex offences is expected to face an Adelaide court today.

The South Australian Education Department said the man, 36, had been charged with the alleged sexual abuse of his partner's daughter.

It will be alleged he and the girl's mother, 35, raped and assaulted the child and took pictures which they uploaded to the internet.

The Education Department said in a statement that police had advised no child from the teacher's immediate school community was at risk.

It said parents would be notified as soon as possible.

The man is due to face Holden Hill Magistrates Court for a bail hearing.

The woman is to face Adelaide Magistrates Court next month.
