VOICE-OVER SCRIPT:

18-YEAR-OLD T.J. LANE WAS CALM AND EXPRESSIONLESS AS HE TOOK HIS SEAT IN COURT TO PLEAD GUILTY TO KILLING THREE STUDENTS IN LAST FEBRUARY'S SCHOOL SHOOTING IN NORTHEAST OHIO.

HE WAS 17 AT THE TIME OF THE CRIME -- AND NOT ELIGIBLE FOR THE DEATH PENALTY.

BUT HE WAS BEING PROSECUTED AS AN ADULT....AND COULD STILL FACE LIFE BEHIND BARS WHEN HE IS SENTENCED IN MARCH.

TUESDAY, HE AGREED TO PLEAD GUILTY TO ALL CHARGES.

NAT SOUND

"the defendant will plead guilty to count two of the indictment.....the aggravated murder of russell king junior."

WEDNESDAY MARKS THE ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF THE DEADLY SHOOTING -- WHICH PROMPTED A MAKE-SHIFT MEMORIAL OUTSIDE THE SCHOOL.

INSTEAD OF BALLOONS AND STUFFED ANIMALS, THE DAY WILL BE MARKED BY A MEMORIAL WALK AND SERVICE ACTIVITIES AT THE SCHOOL.

INVESTIGATORS SAY LANE ADMITTED TO THE SHOOTING, BUT SAID HE DIDN'T KNOW WHY HE DID IT.

THE PROSECUTOR SAYS THE TEEN'S PLEA PROVIDES THE SAME OUTCOME A TRIAL WOULD HAVE PRODUCED.

AND HE SAID VICTIMS' FAMILIES AGREED THAT LANE SHOULD FACE LIFE IN PRISON.

NAT SOUND.

Yes, your honor......and it is your desire to do it.......Yes.
