STORYLINE:

Emergency managers reported that several dirt roads were becoming impassable in parts of central and southern Georgia, as heavy rain continued to fall Tuesday morning.

Reports to the National Weather Service indicated that flooding would likely affect school bus travel in parts of the state on Tuesday morning as water ponded on roads.

The weather service said a flood warning covering much of central and southern Georgia would continue until Tuesday afternoon.

High winds combined with saturated ground also threatened to topple trees in central and northern Georgia.

The weather service issued a high wind advisory through Tuesday afternoon. It covered several cities, including Atlanta, Columbus, Dublin, Griffin, Macon, Milledgeville, Americus and Vidalia.
