Queensland MP Scott Driscoll is fighting back after a week of negative stories about his past.

The member for Redcliffe is a former president of the Queensland Retail Traders and Shopkeepers Association.

Last week a series of a stories raised allegations against Mr Driscoll, including that he had continued to operate on behalf of the association after entering parliament last year.

Older allegations were also aired, relating to personal behaviour and financial dealings.

Mr Driscoll denied all the reports.

Now lawyers for the retailers' group have issued a statement, rejecting each story in detail.

It says the allegations were deliberately false and the association is taking advice on legal action against some people and media for defamation and commercial damage.
