The State Government expects up to 800 jobs to be created through the expansion of an abattoir in Melbourne's south east.
The Planning Minister, Matthew Guy, has amended the Cardinia Planning Scheme to allow the further development of O'Connor's Abattoir in Pakenham.
The development will expand freezing and cool storage operations, transport and warehouse facilities.
Mr Guy says the expansion will be a major economic boost for the region.
"Bringing jobs to Melbourne's growth areas is incredibly important, bringing $315 million worth of investment is fantastic, 800 local jobs is outstanding," he said.
