The Philippine Government says it is keen to resume peace talks with communist rebels in the country.
President Benigno Aquino has told a delegation of peace negotiators from Norway that his government has begun a review of the communists' demands to free several jailed members.
A disagreement on the release of detained rebels has stalled the talks since 2011.
A preliminary peace deal with Muslim insurgents in the southern Philippines was signed last October.
At the time, Mr Aquino said forging a peace deal with communist rebels appeared to be difficult.
Norway has been brokering negotiations between the Philippine Government and communist rebels.
