The weather bureau is warning a low off Queensland's Gold Coast will deliver more wild weather in the coming days.
A severe weather warning is in place for damaging winds and dangerous surf for the Gold Coast and lifeguards have closed local beaches again today.
Bureau senior forecaster Peter Otto says waves are reaching a height of about four metres.
"They're about four metres on average getting up to six metres at times - that's offshore, but some of the gauges we're getting are going for those sort of levels not far off the coast," he said.
"They'll be around even near the inshore areas and they have the potential to be dangerous.
"There is a warning out for those waves and there's also a warning out for the possibility of damaging wind gusts getting going from this afternoon."
