The Premier Colin Barnett and the Labor leader Mark McGowan are to answer questions from the public and journalists during the leaders election debate tonight.

It is the only live televised debate that will take place prior to the election on March 9.

Moderated by ABC’s James McHale, the leaders will answer questions from a panel of senior journalists, including ABC's state political reporter, Alisha O'Flaherty and radio host Geoff Hutchison.

Viewers can live tweet their questions to the leaders at #wavotes

The debate takes place from 7.30 pm and will be streamed online at www.abc.net.au/news/wa or www.abc.net.au/news24.

It will be screened on ABC1 at 7:30pm (local time) and nationally on ABC News 24 (10:30pm AEST).

It will also be simulcast live across ABC Local Radio WA
