A rookie Queensland MP is facing claims he is moonlighting for a retailers' association and has failed to properly account for its money.

Financial backers of the Queensland Retail Traders and Shopkeepers Association want answers over money they stumped up last year to fund trading hour disputes through the courts, The Courier-Mail reports.

They want Scott Driscoll to produce books relating to $100,000 given for the cause, the paper says.

They are also yet to see the books relating to $550,000 in proceeds from the sale of the association's building in Kelvin Grove in 2011.

The Redcliffe MP has further been accused of acting on behalf of the association without telling parliament.

It's alleged Mr Driscoll used his parliamentary email, as late as September, to direct the body's trading hours campaigns, and signed off on correspondence under the title National President, United Retail Federation.

Mr Driscoll told the paper he disputed all the allegations.
