Man charged with drink-driving school bus

A school bus driver has been charged with drink-driving after an early morning two-vehicle crash in Sydney's south.

The school bus was on its way to pick up students in Sutherland shire when it collided with a Toyota ute in Kirrawee about 6.20am (AEDT) on Monday, police said.

The 69-year-old bus driver was not injured but returned a blood-alcohol reading of 0.103 when he was breath-tested at the scene.

He was charged with mid-range drink-driving and is due to appear at Sutherland Local Court on March 21.

The 17-year-old male driver of the ute was not hurt but his 18-year-old male passenger was taken to Sutherland Hospital with bruised ribs.
