Emergency services were called to the Perth Motorplex in Kwinana, after a jet powered car crashed into the sand trap.
Drag racer escapes serious injury in crash

A racing car driver was taken to hospital on Saturday night after his parachute failed to open during a jet dragster race at the Perth Motorplex in Kwinana.
The rescue helicopter was called to the motorplex after the parachute, which is used to slow the vehicle, failed to open and sent the racing car crashing into the sand trap.
It is believed the vehicle was travelling about 400 kilometres per hour.
The driver was not seriously hurt.
