A 16-year-old girl has been charged after losing control of the car she was driving and crashing into the carport of a house in suburban Armadale.

Police say they arrived at the Devereux Street property early on Sunday morning to find a car stuck in the carport and about five youths trying to free it.

The teenage girl has been charged with several offences including contravening a learner's permit and driving with a blood alcohol level in excess of 0.05 per cent.

And a 34-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment for minor injuries after crashing his car into a home garage in the northern Perth suburb of Ballajura.

Police say the crash caused extensive damage to the house and the garage, but no-one was hurt.

Inquiries are continuing.
