Man charged over continuous assaults

Police have charged a man from Sydney's south with assaulting his 18-year-old girlfriend after they arrested her on an unrelated matter and found she had a number of injuries.

The woman was arrested last Sunday evening and was taken to St George police station in Kogarah, where officers noticed she had multiple injuries.

She was then taken to St George Hospital.

Police believed the injuries came from "continuous assaults" at her Brighton-le-Sands home.

On February 15 police raided the property and arrested and 18-year-old man.

He was charged with 11 offences including four counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, stalking and intimidating and carrying a cutting weapon upon apprehension.

Bail was refused and he is due before Parramatta Bail Court later on Saturday.
