Entsch says it with red roses

Chief Opposition Whip Warren Entsch may be a knockabout bloke from north Queensland with a crocodile skin on his office floor, but he has a romantic side.

When coalition MPs filed into the lower house on Thursday morning, a red chocolate rose was waiting on each of their desks, courtesy of Mr Entsch.

There was also one for Speaker Anna Burke while Serjeant-at-Arms Robyn McClelland got both a rose and a kiss.

Alas, Labor and crossbench MPs missed out, though a few found their way across the corridor to Chief Government Whip Joel Fitzgibbon's office.
