Former Victorian detective Simon Artz has pleaded guilty to disclosing sensitive information to The Australian newspaper.

Abattoir fined $350k over worker's death

A Victorian abattoir has been fined $350,000 in the County Court over the death of a worker who was crushed while cleaning a slaughter room machine.

Abraham Yak died in November 2010 at Tabro Meat, near Wonthaggi, in Gippsland.

The company was found guilty of failing to provide a safe system of work and failing to provide information or training regarding cleaning the machine.
