RFS volunteer charged over fatal accident

A New South Wales Rural Fire Service (RFS) volunteer has been charged with causing a serious accident on the F3 freeway north of Sydney last year, in which a woman died.

Two cars and an RFS truck were involved in the crash near Berowra last October.

The 64-year-old woman died at the scene, while a 76-year-old man suffered serious injuries.

The 34-year-old truck driver faces four charges, including dangerous driving occasioning death and not making a u-turn with safety.

He will face Hornsby Local Court in April.
