LAUSANNE, Switzerland (AP) — The IOC says Pakistan's Olympic committee faces a possible suspension over interference by government officials in how sports are run.

International Olympic Committee spokesman Mark Adams says the Pakistani government has ignored an invitation to meet on Friday in Lausanne to resolve an ongoing dispute.

Adams says the IOC executive board "might soon consider a suspension" for Pakistan.

The problems in Pakistani sport mirror those of neighboring India, which was suspended from the Olympic movement in December.

The IOC sanction was imposed before Indian officials organized unofficial elections which supported candidates implicated in corruption allegations.
