VOICE-OVER SCRIPT:

NORTH KOREA CONFIRMED ON WEDNESDAY, IT HAS CONDUCTED ITS THIRD NUCLEAR TEST.

THE ISOLATED COMMUNIST COUNTRY HAD RECENTLY BEEN THREATENING TO CONDUCT A NUCLEAR TEST, AFTER INTERNATIONAL SANCTIONS WERE TIGHTENED FOLLOWING ITS ROCKET LAUNCH IN DECEMBER.

EARTHQUAKE-MONITORING EQUIPMENT AROUND THE WORLD PICKED UP THE QUAKE, REGISTERING WITH THE STRENGTH OF A MODERATE EARTHQUAKE.

THE U-S GEOLOGICAL SURVEY PUT IT AT MAGNITUDE FOUR-POIINT-NINE.

OFFICIAL NORTH KOREAN STATE MEDIA SAID THE TEST WAS CONDUCTED IN A SAFE MANNER, AND ACCUSED THE U-S OF HOSTILITY, AND OF VIOLENTLY UNDERMINING THE COUNTRY'S PEACEFUL RIGHT TO LAUNCH SATELLITES.

THE COUNTRY ALSO SAID IT USED A LIGHTER, MINATURE ATOMIC BOMB THAT STILL HAD MORE EXPLOSIVE POWER THAN THE DEVICES USED IN PREVIOUS TESTS.
