A tradesman who works at Sydney's domestic airport is more than $2 million richer after he scooped a weekend lottery prize.

The winning entry was purchased in Lotto's $20 million Superdraw on Saturday from a Newslink store in the Qantas terminal.

The man, aged in his 60s, was still coming to terms with the news when he spoke of his $2,222,234.23 win on Tuesday.

"I'm past my retirement age now so I was already thinking about when I could give up work," he said in a NSW Lotteries statement.

The tradesman said he'd like to help his children with some of the money but there was nothing particular he wanted for himself.

"My wife might have some ideas for how to spend it," he joked.

The winning numbers in Saturday's Lotto Superdraw were 41, 30, 29, 8, 33 and 36 with the supplementary numbers 23 and 9.
