The Victorian government says it is frustrated by a lack of information on doping in sport and is pushing for an urgent briefing from authorities.

Premier Ted Baillieu says an initial briefing by the commonwealth on the allegations, outlined by the Australian Crime Commission, was initially due to be held in a month.

But that is far too long to wait, he said.

"That's just a nonsense, so we're seeking to have it brought forward to today or tomorrow," he told reporters in Melbourne on Monday afternoon.

"We've been deeply frustrated by this process.

"We want that briefing to occur as soon as possible."

Mr Baillieu said the state government had spoken to other states and found they share his frustrations.

"I think there's a lack of information here, which is causing significant frustration," he said.

"That's not to diminish in any way the Australian Crime Commission's report.

"From our point of view, if there's a significant problem then we want to be party to the resolutions of that as soon as possible."
