Gotye picks up two Grammys

Australian artist Gotye picked up two Grammys at the awards in Los Angeles this morning.

Gotye and Kimbra won best pop duo performance for global smash hit Somebody That I Used to Know, while the Melbourne singer-songwriter also won best alternative album for Making Mirrors.

Gotye has also been nominated for record of the year for Somebody That I Used to Know.

The last Australian to win record of the year was Olivia Newton-John with I Honestly Love You in 1975.

British act Skrillex took three gongs - including best dance recording for Bangarang.

Mumford & Sons, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros and Old Crowe Medicine Show have won best long form music video for Big Easy Express.
