AIRCRAFT WITH HEAT-SENSING TECHNOLOGY HAS BEEN DEPLOYED IN THE SEARCH FOR CHRISTOPHER DORMER -- THE FORMER POLICE OFFICER SUSPECTED OF KILLING THREE PEOPLE IN A VENGEANCE-FUELED RAMPAGE AGAINST THE L.A.P.D.

TWO SHERIFF'S CHOPPERS FLEW OVER THE SAN BERNADINO MOUNTAINS EAST OF LOS ANGELES ONE DAY AFTER THEY WERE GROUNDED BY SEVERE WEATHER AND HEAVY SNOW.

SCORES OF OFFICERS FANNED OUT AT DAYBREAK -- TRYING TO FIND DORNER -- WHOSE BURNED-OUT PICK-UP TRUCK WAS FOUND IN THE AREA ON THURSDAY.

AS THE MANHUNT CONTINUES -- POLICE SAY OFFICERS ARE GUARDING MORE THAN 40 PEOPLE MENTIONED AS TARGETS IN A RAND DORNER POSTED ON FACEBOOK.

AUTHORITIES SAY THEY DON'T KNOW HOW LONG DORNER HAD BEEN PLANNING HIS RAMPAGE --WHICH THEY DESCRIBE AS AIMED AGAINST THOSE HE BLAMES FOR ENDING HIS CAREER.

AND THEY SAY THEY DON'T KNOW WHY HE DROVE TO THE SAN BERNADINO MOUNTAINS -- ALTHOUGH PROPERTY RECORDS SHOW HIS MOTHER OWNS UNDEVELOPED LAND NEARBY.

AS OFFICERS CONTINUE THEIR SEARCH IN THIS MOUNTAINOUS REGION, THOUSANDS OF HEAVILY ARMED POLICE REMAIN ON THE LOOKOUT NOT JUST IN CALIFORNIA -- BUT ALSO IN NEVADA -- ARIZONA -- AND NORTHERN MEXICO.
