Celtic debutant Tom Rogic earned praise from his new manager Neil Lennon after playing an important role in the 3-1 victory over Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

In his first match since moving from the Central Coast Mariners, Rogic played the full 90 minutes for the Scottish champions and made a key contribution.

With the Bhoys 1-0 down, Rogic dribbled into the right hand side of the penalty box, before pulling a ball back which Kris Commons dispatched into the top corner.

Celtic went on to seal victory and move 18 points clear of Inverness at the top of the SPL table.

It is uncertain whether Rogic will be part of the squad for the Champions League last 16 clash with Juventus at Parkhead on Wednesday (AEDT), but his manager is certain he can play a big part in the Glasgow giant's future.

"I think you saw a wee glimpse of what's coming through," Lennon said.

"Marcus Fraser, Dylan McGeouch and Rogic are young players and I thought they were fantastic."
