The body of a missing central Queensland man has been found in a car submerged in a river.

Police searching the 40-year-old's rural property and surrounds at Munduberra, west of Maryborough, found his four-wheel drive utility in the Boyne River on Friday afternoon.

It was found up against a pylon of the Boondooma Road bridge, and police said it looked like the ute veered off the bridge.

They say the incident was not related to the significant flooding in the region last month.

The man was reported missing on Thursday.
