The body of a man who fell overboard from a luxury boat in Sydney Harbour has been pulled from the water.

Police said the man, believed to be in his late 20s or early 30s, fell overboard from the 100ft cruiser into water near the Glebe Island Bridge about 2pm (AEDT), before being struck by the vessel.

He was pulled from the water at Pyrmont in Sydney's inner-west a short time later and died at the scene.

Two men in their mid-20s had to be treated for shock at the scene.

A NSW Ambulance Service spokeswoman said a triple-zero call indicated the man was crushed between the boat and a mooring pilar.
