Man killed in plane crash

A man has died in an plane crash at Texas on Queensland's southern border.

The ultralight aircraft 0was found about 100 metres from the Texas airfield about 8:30am (AEST) this morning.

The body of the male pilot was found dead inside.

He was the sole occupant.

Goondiwindi Mayor Graeme Scheu says it is tragic news.

"They're terrible, no matter where these sort of things happen," he said.

"They're sad occurrences and our sympathies are with the people who have been affected by this.

It is a council airstrip, I believe, where the incident's taken place.

"The aviation authorities are currently investigating along with the police."
