A 29-year-old man has been charged with raping a 63-year-old woman in her home at Mission Beach in far north Queensland.

It is alleged the man broke into the woman's Wongaling Beach home on Wednesday night, sexually assaulted her and then stole two purses and a set of keys.

He is due to appear in the Innisfail Magistrates Court today on charges including three counts of rape, two counts of stealing and one of possessing a dangerous drug.
