Townsville man found guilty of woman's murder

A 41-year-old Townsville man has been found guilty of the bashing death of his girlfriend in 2010.

Norris Wayne Kerr was this morning convicted of the murder of 38-year-old Lisa Barry, who died near Fairweather Park near the city's railway station.

An autopsy found Ms Barry had suffered a number of injuries including fractured ribs and bleeding in the brain.

Kerr has been sentenced to life in prison.
