The Tasmanian Liberals will field a candidate in the Legislative Council seat of Montgomery at the next election.

The north-west seat is held by the president of the Legislative Council, Sue Smith, who is not contesting the May election.

The head of the Central Coast Chamber of Commerce, Leonie Hiscutt, will contest the seat for the Liberals.

Mrs Hiscutt will be endorsed by the Liberal Party's state executive on Saturday.
