A south-west Queensland grazier says conditions on his property have gone from one extreme to another within a year.

This time last year graziers along the Warrego River were managing floodwaters on their properties around Charleville and Cunnamulla, and the floods were a blessing.

However, grazier Rob Bardon from Valetta Station says they have had very little rain since and it means producers are off-loading stock and still worried about fires.

"Pretty grim, we are hanging out," he said.

"We have probably only had a bit over two inches since March or April.

"But no, it's sort of, as it does in this country, gone from one extreme to the other.

"We've had a few fires around and a few deliberately lit.

"We've ... off-loaded a few weaners, most of our weaners are gone and we are not getting the prices we would hope to get but that is the way the world works out here."
