A 43-year-old Perth man has been charged after he allegedly tried to run down his partner with his car during a domestic dispute last night.

It is alleged the accused earlier assaulted another man at a supermarket in Balga.

Police say a short time later, he drove home and became involved in a dispute.

It is alleged the man drove into his 35-year-old partner with his 4-wheel-drive, pinning her to another vehicle.

The woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries and has since undergone surgery.

The man will appear in the Perth Magistrates Court today charged with a range of offences, including causing grievous bodily harm.
