A truck driver, involved in a collision with a Hunter Valley school bus that killed a nine-year-old boy, is being accused of dangerous and negligent driving.

It has been almost five months since Singleton school boy Harry Dunn was killed.

On September 10 last year, a prime mover collided with the school bus he was travelling on.

His younger brother and a seven-year-old boy were seriously injured in the collision, while the bus driver and remaining passengers were treated for minor injuries.

After months of investigations, Queensland Police, on behalf of their New South Wales counterparts, have charged the 34-year-old truck driver with dangerous and negligent driving occasioning death, and driving a motor vehicle with a prescribed illicit drug present.

He will return to Singleton next month to face court.
