1. SOUNDBITE: President Barack Obama / NO SUPER

(Scott Pelley) Next week the board of the Boy Scouts of America is going to vote on whether to end their ban to gays in scouting. Should scouting be open to gays. (Obama) Yes. Why so? Well, my attitude is that gays and lesbians should have access and opportunity the same way that everybody else does. The scouts are a great insitution that are promoting young people and exposing them to opportunities and leadership that will serve people for the rest of their lives and I think nobody should be barred for that."

STORYLINE:

During an interview with Scott Pelley of CBS News, President Obama said he thinks that scouting should be open to gay members. The president also spoke about a range of other issues, including the need to do more to combat head injuries in the NFL.
