76yo charged over shopping centre rape

Police have charged a 76-year-old man with rape and indecent assault, following an alleged incident at a shopping centre in Melbourne's east last Sunday.

It is alleged the man approached a 28-year-old woman near a liquor outlet at the Centro shopping centre in Ringwood and sexually assaulted her.

The Ringwood man has been bailed and is due to face the Melbourne Magistrate's Court on Friday.
